FROM
EDINBURGH DIRECTION
Stay
on the M9 until Exit 10, beside Amicable Life.
At
the roundabout take the 1st. exit
heading for Doune.
About
4 miles along the road take a left
turn down a road to Gargunnoch.
Travel
2.5 miles and at the end of this road turn right
onto the A811
Keep
on the A811 for 13 miles passing
through Arnprior and Buchlyvie.
At
the next cross-roads turn left then
immediate right towards Drymen.
After
3 miles take the road on the right into the village of Drymen. Travel
half a mile and just after a sharp corner in the village take a road on the right
to Balmaha.
You
are now on a twisty dead-end road that eventually stops 8 miles on at Rowardennan.
FROM
GLASGOW DIRECTION
Keep
on the M8 until Exit 30 the ERSKINE BRIDGE
( 60 pence Toll). Cross the bridge
and take the first exit on the left heading to Crianlarich
on the A82.
At
the roundabout, 2 miles, go straight on.
At
Traffic lights, 1 mile further on follow the signs for Loch Lomond, keep to the
middle or outside lanes, the inside lane is a filter which
takes you off the correct road.
Keep
on the A82, going through Dumbarton.
4
miles on there is a big roundabout near Balloch.
Take the third exit of the roundabout onto the A811 signposted Stirling
Do
not go straight on here, that would take you up the West Side of Loch Lomond,
you want the East Side.
Keep
on this road, A811, going straight on
at any roundabouts.
About
7 miles further on you come to a T junction turn left towards Drymen/Stirling.
Travel
about half a mile, then take the road on the left into the village of Drymen. Go about another half a mile and take the road on the left to
Balmaha.
You
are now on a twisty dead-end road that eventually stops 8 miles on at Rowardennan.
The lodges are
just before Rowardennan Hotel. Stop
at the barrier and it will be opened for you.
Lodge 17 is at the far side of the complex, across a small bridge and
right beside the loch.
It is the centre one of the three lodges at the very front.
